Frequently Asked Questions

Redeeming printed vouchers

A voucher can be redeemed online or in person.

Online: Redeeming a voucher online is very straight forward. Please log onto our website and select your chosen gift. When you have finished shopping proceed to view 'my cart.' Please add your unique gift voucher code, this can be found to the bottom right of the voucher. The voucher amount will then be deducted from the total value of your purchase. If the value of the voucher is less than the purchase you will be directed to another page to add your card details for the remaining sum. If the value of the voucher is greater than the purchase, the remaining sum will be re-assigned to your specific voucher code and can be used at any time until the voucher expires. Vouchers are valid for 1 year from date of issue.

In person: If you live locally and wish to either hold a 'Pitter Patterns Print Party' or attend one of our casting session held at various locations in the South East then please bring along your gift voucher. The voucher amount will then be deducted from you the total value of your order.

Redeeming Electronic vouchers: Electronic vouchers can be redeemed in exactly the same way as printed vouchers, the only differtence is the way you will have received your unique voucher code. With electronic vouchers your voucher will have been sent directly to an e.mail address. Within the text of the e.mail a voucher code will have been sent. Please use this code to redeem your voucher. Please follow exactly the same instructions as detailed above in redeeming an online voucher.

Sending a gift voucher

If you wish to send a gift voucher there are two ways to do this: either order our printed paper voucher or send an electronic voucher directly to the recipient.

Printed voucher: If you chose to send a printed voucher these will be sent out within 48hrs. Please choose whether you'd like them sent directly to the recipient or to yourself. If you choose to have them sent to yourself then they will come out to your adress and you will be able to give the voucher to the recipient in person. If you choose to send them directly to the recipient upon checkout you will be asked for your address along with the recipients.

Online vouchers: If you choose to send an electronic voucher directly to the recipient upon checkout you will be asked for the recipients e.mail address. You will also have the opportunity to add a message. This message will be sent along with your voucher to the recipient.

We keep your casts/prints for one year. If you order again within this time we can work from your originals.

I would like to host a fingerprint party is this option available?

Yes. If you’d like to host a Pitter Patterns Print Party then please send us an email. The distance we travel depends on the amount to be ordered. We ask that there be a minimum of 4 people each ordering at least 1 piece each. We will come along show you our sample collection to help you decide before taking the prints.

I am worried I may not take the prints properly?

Upon receipt of your prints I personally check them to ensure they have been taken properly. If I am unhappy with them you will be given the opportunity to re-do the prints. There will be an additional charge for the second kit. Additional fingerprint kits are £5. Additional hand/foot print kits are £6.95.

Are the hand and foot print ranges just a generic print?

No. This is your child’s unique print miniaturised and stamped into silver.

How do you get my child’s finger/hand or footprint into silver?

If you order on line you will receive either our casting or impression kit. Follow the simple instructions and return the casts/prints back to us in the pre-paid envelope. We will then transfer the prints into silver!

How long does it take and how will I receive my finished piece of jewellery?

Your finished piece of jewellery will be sent to you by post as a Royal Mail Special delivery at an additional cost of £6.95 four weeks from receipt of your casts/prints.

Once we have received your order we will dispatch to you within 48 hours a casting/impression kit. Please take your fingerprint casts/hand and footprints and return to us in the pre-paid envelope. Please see our section titled The Process for full details.

Is there a maximum age for fingerprints?

No, there is no age limit to fingerprint jewellery. We can take adult fingerprints as well as children’s. Please note our small heart and square charms will not accommodate an adult fingerprint.

Will I be able to see the fingerprint clearly?

Fingerprint detail varies from person to person. There are many factors that contribute to this. Age and genetics are two of the main. Here in our studio we have spent a lot of time researching the best moulding compounds to use. The compound is able to pick up the most detailed impression. We can assure you you will be pleased with the finished result.

I want to buy some fingerprint jewellery. How old does my baby need to be?

We recommend that the child is 4 months +. If your baby is under this age then please see our hand and foot print jewellery.
